Directions

Step 1: For Marinara Sauce

To make marinara sauce, in a medium heated saucepan add olive oil. Once oil get heated, add diced onion and chopped garlic and sauté them for 3 minutes. Then add tomato puree and bring it to boil. Afterwards add sprig of thyme and sprig of basil. Stir it and let tomato puree get boil. Cover the saucepan with lid and let it simmer for 10 minute in a low flame. After that remove sprig of thyme and sprig of basil from the sauce. Add kosher salt and black pepper as per taste. Stir sauce and transfer it in a large bowl. Marinara sauce is ready.

 

Step 2: To Boil Ziti Pasta

To boil ziti pasta, keep water to boil in a stockpot. Add salt as per taste. Once boiled, add ziti pasta in the boiling water and cook for 10 minutes. Place  plastic colander over the empty bowl and drain the ziti pasta over colander. Finally transfer the ziti pasta from the colander into an empty bowl. Boiled ziti pasta is ready.

Step 3: For Ziti Mixture

To make ziti mixture, add boiled ziti pasta in a large bowl. Add marinara sauce on it followed by grated parmesan cheese and grated pecorino romano cheese. Now add cubed mozzarella cheese and then add black pepper and crushed red pepper as per taste. Mix all the ingredients. Ziti Mixture is ready.

 

Step 4: For Make Baked Ziti

To make Baked Ziti, preheat the oven at 400 degrees. Then spread ziti mixture into a baking dish. Add sliced mozzarella cheese on top of ziti mixture. Sprinkle remaining grated parmesan cheese over mozzarella cheese. Bake it for 30 minutes until lightly browned. Once it gets brown, remove baking dish from oven. Cut Baked Ziti with a knife and place it into serving plate. Garnish it by sprinkling chopped parsley on it and serve with 2 sliced bread. Yippie!!! Yummy “Baked Ziti” is ready!

  • ½ cup Cubed mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup Grated pecorino romano cheese

  • Crushed red pepper

  • ¼ cup Grated parmesan cheese

  • Black pepper

  • Sliced bread

  • ½ cup Sliced mozzarella cheese

  • Chopped parsley

  • Grated parmesan cheese
