Step 1: Boil Green Beans

To boil green beans, cut green beans into small pieces. In a Stockpot bring water to boil over high heat. Add salt into boiling water. add green beans into salted boiling water and allow them to cook for about 4 to 5 minutes, Remove green beans from the boiling water with a slotted spoon and set aside to cool.

Step 2: Prepare Bacon and Onion Mixture

To make Bacon and Onion mixture, add bacon pieces into a frying pan over medium heat. Cook bacon for 2 minutes, stir it and then add chopped onion and minced garlic and continue cooking for 3 to 5 minutes or until bacon is done and onions are golden brown. Remove bacon and onion mixture from heat and set aside.

Step 3: Prepare Sauce

To make a sauce in a separate frying pan , melt butter over medium heat . Sprinkle flour into a pan and whisk immediately to evenly mix it into the butter , cook for two minutes , then pour milk half and half cream . Continue cooking , whisking constantly , while sauce thickens about 2 minutes . Sprinkle salt and pepper . Then add cayenne pepper and grated cheddar cheese and stir until cheese melted . Turn off the heat . Add pimentoes and bacon and onion mixture into the frying pan, stir it to combine

Step 4: Prepare Green Bean Casserole

To make green bean casserole , add boiled green beans in the sauce and stir gently to combine. Add green beans mixture into the baking dish and sprinkle the fry onion over the top .

  • 2 pounds Green Beans pieces
  • 1 Jar (4 ounces) sliced Pimientos, drained
  • 4 Bacon, Cut into pieces
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • ½ large onion chopped
  • ½ cup half and half cream
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 4 tbsp All-purpose Flour
  • 2 & ½ cup Milk
  • 1 cup Fried Onion
  • 1 & ½ tsp salt
  • Water for boiling
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
